What is Computer Vision and how does it work?

Computer Vision is the field of Artificial Intelligence that enables software to analyze images and video and extract structured information from visual scenes.

From pixels to events

A production system can detect and classify people, vehicles or objects, track movement, evaluate zones and transform those results into events, indicators and evidence.

What changes in real operations

Lighting, camera angle, distance, occlusion, compression and scene variability matter. A model must therefore be evaluated in the actual environment and integrated into the workflow where decisions happen.

Examples

  • Perimeter and restricted-area monitoring.
  • People counting, occupancy and queues.
  • Vehicle and equipment classification.
  • Heat maps and trajectories.
  • Configured operational events and alerts.
